# Connect Ken to Lovable with MCP

Lovable connects to Ken's remote MCP server as a custom MCP chat connector on every Lovable plan. Open Connectors, add an MCP server with Ken's URL and OAuth, then select Add & authorize and sign in to Ken. Ken then answers in project chat and Chats.

## How Do You Connect Ken to Lovable?

**In short:** Add https://mcp.ken.so/mcp as a remote MCP server in Lovable, then sign in to Ken in your browser.

1. **Open Connectors**: In Lovable, open Connectors, select the + button at the top right of the catalog and choose MCP server.
2. **Enter Ken's Server**: Set Server name to Ken and paste the URL below as the Server URL. If a Connection dropdown appears, keep Direct connection.

   ```
   https://mcp.ken.so/mcp
   ```
3. **Authorize with OAuth**: Keep OAuth, the default, and select Add & authorize. Your browser opens the Ken sign-in. Sign in with the account you use in the Ken app, then select Allow access on the Ken approval screen. You never paste a client ID or secret.
4. **Test It in Chat**: Ask something Ken can answer, such as which campaigns are running. Lovable shows an approval card before any Ken tool that is not read-only.

## What Can You Ask Ken From Lovable?

**In short:** Ask in plain language. The client picks the Ken tool, and Ken runs it with your workspace role.

**Example requests in Lovable and the Ken MCP tool that answers each one**

| Ask | Ken tool used | What the tool does |
| --- | --- | --- |
| Find VPs of Sales at US software companies with 50 to 200 employees. | search_read | Searches Ken's people and company database and returns filter facets. |
| Which fintech companies in Germany have more than 100 employees? Search Ken's 250M people and 24M companies. | search_read | Searches Ken's people and company database and returns filter facets. |
| Which of my campaigns are running right now? | campaigns_read | Lists campaigns and reads one campaign's settings and status. |
| How did my campaigns do this week? Show sends, replies and bounces for each one. | analytics_read | Reads campaign performance, engagement, deliverability and reply classifications. |
| Show me the replies that came in today and summarize each one. | threads_read | Lists inbox threads and reads their messages. |

Admins and members get read and write tools. View-only members get read tools plus inbox replies.

## What If Ken Does Not Connect in Lovable?

**In short:** Most failures come from a skipped sign-in step or a client setting.

**Common Lovable connection problems and fixes**

| Problem | Fix |
| --- | --- |
| MCP server is greyed out | A workspace admin turned off custom MCP servers. Ask them to allow members to connect their own MCP servers under Connectors > Admin settings > Chat connectors. |
| A teammate cannot use your Ken connection | Chat connections are per user. Each teammate adds Ken and signs in with their own Ken account. |
| A Ken tool answers "Missing scope" | Part of the Ken approval screen was declined. Remove Ken from the client, add it again and select Allow access. |

## Frequently Asked Questions

### Can the app I publish on Lovable call Ken through this connector?

No. Lovable says custom MCP connections give context in chat only, not in published apps.

### Which Lovable plans can connect Ken?

All of them. Lovable lists custom MCP servers on all plans. On Business and Enterprise, workspace admins can switch custom MCP servers off for members.

### Can I use a Ken API key in Lovable instead of OAuth?

Lovable offers a Bearer token or API key option for servers without OAuth. Ken supports OAuth, so use OAuth and each person signs in with their own Ken account.

### What can Lovable change in my Ken workspace?

Only what your Ken role allows. Admins and members get read and write tools, including campaign launches. View-only members get read tools plus inbox replies. Ken checks your role on every call, so a role change applies right away.
