Sources are listed below. ## n8n Pros - Bills per workflow execution, not per step: a run counts once however many steps it has or how much data it processes. - Every plan includes unlimited users, unlimited workflows and every integration. - The free self-hosted Community Edition includes code steps, HTTP requests, webhook triggers and AI agent nodes. - Code steps run JavaScript or Python, and the HTTP Request node calls any REST or GraphQL API, on every plan. - Every plan has the AI Agent node, MCP client and server, and human approval before an agent runs a sensitive tool. ## n8n Cons - Starter allows 2,500 executions a month, 5 concurrent executions and runs of up to 5 minutes. - SSO, Git version control and environments start at Business, $800 a month billed yearly, which runs self-hosted only. - On n8n Cloud, Python code steps cannot import libraries. - The Community Edition license allows only internal business, non-commercial or personal use, and you run and maintain the servers. ## Who Is n8n For? **In short:** n8n is a workflow automation and AI agent platform for technical teams, sold as a hosted cloud service or run on your own servers with the free Community Edition. Pick n8n if one of these is true: - You have technical staff and want to self-host workflows for free on your own servers. - You run long, many-step workflows and want to pay per execution instead of per step. - You need code steps, HubSpot or Salesforce nodes and 500+ integrations today. ## Is n8n Worth It? **In short:** Ken's view: worth it for technical teams that self-host workflows or run long, many-step automations, less so for outbound teams that want contact data and email and LinkedIn sending built in.
