## How Are These Templates Written?

**In short:** From Ken's open-source cold email skills, the rules Ken's team writes campaigns with, plus the FTC's CAN-SPAM basics.

- One idea and one direct ask per email. The ask is for the meeting or the thing you offer, never a soft "Is this worth a look?".
- First emails stay under 80 words of static copy; follow-ups shrink to about 50.
- Subject lines read like an internal email: a few plain words, no spam words, no fake Re: or Fwd:.
- Follow-ups reply in the same thread, 2-4 days apart, and each one adds a new idea.
- Plain text with at most one link, on its own line, and no hype words.
- Every cold email carries your postal address and a plain opt-out line, which the FTC's CAN-SPAM guide requires and the signature can hold.
- Examples use fictional companies. Nothing here comes from customer campaigns.
