What the funnel builder does

It maps an outbound funnel as a diagram you can edit, and forecasts what the funnel produces each month. Drag steps onto the canvas, connect them, and give each connection a conversion rate.

  • Lead sources: a prospect list, LinkedIn, inbound, events, ads.
  • Channels: a cold email sequence, LinkedIn connect and message, calls.
  • Outcomes: reply, positive reply, meeting booked, meeting held, opportunity, closed won.
  • Custom steps for anything else in your process.

Set a monthly volume on each source, a deal size and a sales cycle, and add a cost to any step. The forecast updates as you type.

How to read the forecast

Every step shows how many people reach it a month. The forecast panel adds it up: meetings, pipeline, revenue, cost per meeting, customer acquisition cost and ROI.

Meetings count held meetings, or booked ones if your funnel has no held step. Pipeline is opportunities times deal size. Revenue lands after the sales cycle, so a three-month cycle shows cost from month one and revenue from month four. A warning appears if the connections leaving one step add up to more than 100%.

How to use it

Start from the outbound template, then replace each default rate with your own number from last quarter. The step where your rate falls furthest below the default is where the funnel leaks, and fixing that step moves the forecast more than adding volume at the top.

Use the what-if sliders before you commit budget. Doubling contacts doubles everything downstream and the data and sending cost with it, while a better reply rate gets you more meetings from the list you already have.

Why it matters for outbound

An outbound funnel is a chain of multiplications, and planning it in a spreadsheet hides which rate matters. On the canvas you see it: 10,000 contacts at a 3% reply rate and 30% positive replies give 90 positive conversations, and the template books 7 meetings from them. Change one link and every number after it moves.

Questions

Where do the default conversion rates come from?
The reply, positive reply and meeting rates are Ken's published numbers: 3% reply, 30% of replies positive, 7 meetings booked per 10,000 contacts. The show rate (80%), meeting to opportunity rate (50%) and win rate (20%) are planning defaults, not benchmarks. Replace them with your own.
Is this a free alternative to Funnelytics?
For outbound B2B planning, yes. Funnelytics is built around marketing funnels and charges for it. This builder is free, needs no account, and its steps and default rates are made for cold email and LinkedIn outreach.
Can I save and share a funnel?
Your funnel saves in your browser as you work. The share link encodes the whole funnel in the URL, so it opens the same diagram read-only on any device and nothing is stored on a server. You can also export it as PNG or PDF.
How do I calculate customer acquisition cost from a funnel?
Add up the monthly cost of every step, including data, tools and people, and divide by the closed-won deals the funnel produces that month. The builder does this live as CAC, next to cost per meeting.
How many steps can a funnel have?
Up to 50. A funnel with two lead sources, two channels and the six outcome steps uses ten, which leaves room for custom steps and branches.
