What remove duplicates does
It finds rows that describe the same person or company and keeps one. Pick what counts as a duplicate:
- Email, after trimming and lowercasing, with Gmail dots and +tags ignored.
- Domain, to keep one contact per company.
- LinkedIn URL, after canonicalizing the profile link.
- Company name, with fuzzy matching that ignores suffixes and case, so "Acme Inc." matches "ACME".
The file is read in your browser and never uploaded.
How to read the result
The counts show how many duplicate groups were found and how many rows were removed. Each group lists the rows that matched and which one stayed. The kept row is the one with the most filled cells, so you lose blanks, not data. Every removed row goes to a second file.
How to use it
Dedupe by email for a contact list. Dedupe by domain when you want one person per account, for example the most senior one, and sort the file by seniority before you run it. Use company name matching for account lists that have no domain column. Check the groups before downloading if you use fuzzy matching, because two different companies can share a name.
Why it matters for cold email
The same person getting the same email twice is a fast way to a spam complaint, and complaints weigh more than anything else in inbox placement. Duplicates also skew every rate you measure and waste sends you pay for. Lists merged from two exports almost always overlap.
