Claude MCP: Connect Ken as a Custom Connector

Claude connects to Ken's remote MCP server as a custom connector on Free, Pro, Max, Team and Enterprise plans. Add Ken under Customize > Connectors, select Connect, then sign in to Ken and allow access. Free accounts get one custom connector.

How Do You Connect Ken to Claude?

In short Add https://mcp.ken.so/mcp as a remote MCP server in Claude, then sign in to Ken in your browser.

  1. Open Connectors

In Claude, go to Customize > Connectors. On a Team or Enterprise plan, an Owner adds Ken once under Organization settings > Connectors (Add, then Custom, then Web), and each member then selects Connect on it.

  2. Add a Custom Connector

Select + Add, then Add custom connector. Name it Ken, paste the server URL below, then select Continue.

    https://mcp.ken.so/mcp
  3. Keep OAuth Sign-In

Claude detects that Ken uses OAuth. If the form asks for an OAuth client, choose Register automatically, because Ken registers each connector itself. Select Continue, then Add.

  4. Connect and Sign In to Ken

Select Connect on the Ken connector. Your browser opens the Ken sign-in. Sign in with the account you use in the Ken app, then select Allow access on the Ken approval screen. You never paste a client ID or secret.

  5. Turn Ken On in a Chat

In a chat, select + at the lower left, open Connectors and switch Ken on for that conversation.

Can You Use a Ken API Key Instead of OAuth?

In short Yes. Claude can send your Ken API key as a Bearer token when a browser sign-in is not an option.

  1. Send a Ken API Key as a Request Header

Create a key in the Ken app under Settings > Integrations > API Keys. In the Add custom connector form, put it in Request headers as the Authorization header with the value Bearer and your key. On Team and Enterprise plans, everyone who uses that connector reaches Ken with the same key, so prefer OAuth there.

    Authorization: Bearer <KEN_API_KEY>

What Can You Ask Ken From Claude?

In short Ask in plain language. The client picks the Ken tool, and Ken runs it with your workspace role.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I use Ken on the Claude Free plan?

Yes. Claude Free allows one custom connector, so Ken can be that one. Pro, Max, Team and Enterprise plans can add custom connectors too.

Who adds Ken on a Claude Team or Enterprise plan?

On Team, an Owner or Primary Owner adds it under Organization settings > Connectors. On Enterprise, a custom role with Manage access to Libraries can add it too. Members then select Connect and sign in with their own Ken account.

Does the connector also work in Claude Desktop and Claude Code?

Claude Desktop uses the same Customize > Connectors page. Claude Code loads claude.ai connectors when you sign in to Claude Code with a claude.ai subscription.

What can Claude change in my Ken workspace?

Only what your Ken role allows. Admins and members get read and write tools, including campaign launches. View-only members get read tools plus inbox replies. Ken checks your role on every call, so a role change applies right away.

The new Ken opens to the waiting list in batches.
