How We Ranked These Tools
In short We judged each tool on 5 criteria, using only facts from its own public pages.
- Contact coverage: Work emails, mobile numbers and direct dials, and the coverage each vendor states.
- Signals: Buyer intent, job changes, hiring and technographics.
- Cost model: Credits, seats and contracts, and whether prices are published.
- Workflow: Browser extension, CRM sync, and API or MCP access.
- Data checks: Verification before you pay, and screening such as Do Not Call lists.
Ken is first because it is our product. The rest are ordered by how well each meets our ranking criteria. We do not use ratings from review sites, and we have not tested these tools hands-on.
1. Ken
In short Best for research that ends in an email campaign.
Ken is first for teams whose sales research ends in an email campaign: search 250M people and 24M companies for free and pay 1 credit ($0.02) per valid email. Company and person enrichment is free, and your AI agent can search the same data over MCP. Ken has no phone numbers or browser extension, and account signals sit in Signals (Coming), so teams that need mobiles or intent should start with ZoomInfo or Apollo.io.
Price: the Free plan starts with 1,000 credits once and no card. Platform is $200 a month, or $160 a month billed annually. Ken Search: Search and enrichment are free; emails Ken finds cost 1 credit each, only when found.
Strengths
Search 250M people and 24M companies. Search is free; you pay only for valid emails found, 1 credit ($0.02) each. Company and person enrichment is free. Emails you upload or find with your own provider key cost nothing. Your AI agent can search the same database over MCP.
Limits
Counts are people and companies in Ken's database, not the whole market. Fair-use rate limits apply. Mobile and direct-dial numbers: no (work emails only). Browser extension: no. Buyer intent data: coming.
2. ZoomInfo
In short Best for mobile numbers and intent at scale.

Pay-as-you-go API, MCP and CLI access through GTM AI with published per-credit prices and free search and lookup.
Limits
No public prices for Professional, Copilot Advanced or Copilot Enterprise; every quote goes through sales. Paid plans are annual contracts with a minimum seat count; ZoomInfo says there is no standard monthly option. Intent data, website visitors and workflows start at Copilot Advanced, and Streaming Intent costs extra. The free Lite tier gives 10 credits a month and is closed to current or past paid customers.
3. Apollo.io

Unlimited seats need the custom Scale plan. Annual plans reset unused credits at the end of the year. The API has strict rate limits on Free and Starter; full API access starts on Pro.

Subscriptions auto-renew, and cancelling needs a request at least 60 days before renewal plus a meeting with Customer Success. Basic licenses include 250 credits a month, so high-volume research needs Pro or bulk credits.

Strengths
Enrichment runs inside HubSpot without using HubSpot Credits, fills blank properties on new records automatically and can keep enriched records up to date. Buyer intent tracks interested companies at a published 10 HubSpot Credits per company a month, with extra credits at $0.010 each.
Limits
HubSpot no longer sells new standalone Clearbit subscriptions or creates free Clearbit accounts. Contact enrichment needs a work email and adds role, title and location, not emails or mobile numbers. Clearbit's free tools (free platform, Weekly Visitor Report, TAM Calculator, Clearbit Connect, free Slack integration) ended April 30, 2025, and the free Logo API in December 2025.
